Carl Eugene Brown passed on March 14, 2026, at the age of 86. He was born July 9th, 1939, and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Carl learned his love of machining from his father and served his apprenticeship at a local machine shop. At a young age he met the love of his life, (Pat) married, and eventually moved his family to Marietta, Georgia. In 1963 he began a 42 year career with Lockheed Martin as a General Machinist. Carl was known for his quiet demeanor, though he became talkative when it came to a subject that he loved. He found joy in faceting gems and crystals, creating beautiful pieces. Carl even contributed to the Cobb County Gem and Mineral Society, repairing machinery and volunteering as a skilled instructor. When projects got tough, his motto was “Impossible just takes a little longer.”
Travel was another love of his. Carl and his family often took camping trips to Venture Out Resort and Saint Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach, Florida. Being crafty, he and his sons worked together to build a canoe. He also rebuilt a motorhome to take the family on vacation trips. The Lockheed Long Hollow at Lake Lanier was another beloved camping location. Additionally, Carl loved watching the Atlanta Braves games and westerns on television. Above all else, Carl was an adoring husband to his wife of 68 years, father to his children, and grandfather to his many grandchildren.
Carl is survived by his wife Pat Works Brown, his sons Carl Alan Brown, and Anthony Dale Brown (Lisa), his daughter Carla Brown Keasler (Randale), his six grandchildren, his many great grandchildren, and his one great-great grandchild, and his brother Charles Edward Brown (Carol). He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie A. Young and Robert Eli Brown SR, sisters Odessa Brown, Katherine Wright, and his brother Robert Eli Brown JR
A Graveside Service officiated by Brother-in-Law Earl Works will be held for Carl Brown on March 19, 2026, at 1:30 pm at Lakewood Memory Gardens, 325 Greens Lake Rd, Rossville, GA 30741.
