Carrell June Brooks

Mrs. Carrell June Brooks, age 78 of Marietta GA passed away Wednesday, August 29,2018. Carrell was born on February 2, 1940 in Seminole Oklahoma, daughter of the late Jirl D Campbell and Edith Lyle Campbell.

Carrell spent the majority of her life in Oklahoma; recently making her way to Georgia to be closer to her family. Her working career was spent as an accountant in the automotive business. She also was a wonderful homemaker who loved to spend time with her family because she believed in putting family first.

Carrell was a very active and artistic lady and she loved to shop in her spare time. She was a member of Summit Baptist Church. Her greatest joy came from being a dedicated wife to her loving husband Johnny Brooks, a devoted mother to April Dawn Brooks and a loving sister to her brother, William Campbell.

Along with her parents, Carrell is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Johnny Brooks.

Carrell is survived by her daughter, April Brooks, partner Tracy Perreten of Gambrills, MD.; one brother William Campbell, wife Miriam of Kennesaw GA.; nephew, David Campbell, wife Lori, niece, Denise Clark, husband, Brian; great nieces, Michelle Lamutt, husband, Tim; Alyse Smith, husband, Justin; great nephews Austin Clark, wife, Brittany; Alan Campbell, wife Delaney.

Carrell loved being with family and spent a lot of time with them celebrating special occasions. She never met a stranger and was always engaging others in conversation and activities. Her friendly smile and congenial personality made everyone feel special. She touched many hearts by her kindness to them.

Her faith sustained her during her later years. Because of her health issues, she depended on assistance to walk, but she never let this stop her from pursuing the things she enjoyed. She was encouraged by others and subsequently, she encouraged those who seem to be struggling.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Atherton Place, 111 Tower Rd. Marietta GA. 30060, with the Rev. Scott Mill officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m preceding the service.
