Cathy Lynn Mitchell

Cathy was born and raised in Marion, Ohio. After marrying her husband, Frank, they moved to Grove City, Ohio, and later to Kennesaw, Georgia, where they raised their two daughters. Over the years, Cathy called many places home, including Marion and Grove City, OH; Kennesaw, GA; Navarre Beach, FL; Rydal, GA; and most recently, Castle Rock, CO.

Cathy spent her life devoted to her family and friends. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and Grandma. She cherished time with her friends—who became family—and was known for the way she showed up for those she loved. Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother, and her love and encouragement will be felt for generations to come. Cathy faced Alzheimer’s with grace and strength, supported by the love and care of her family and caregivers.

She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 40 years, Frank Arthur Roof Mitchell.

She is survived by her daughters, Kristin Mitchell Beary and Ashley Mitchell Stieger; her sons-in-law, Joel Beary and Roddy Stieger; and her grandchildren, Keeley, Lucas, and Cameron. She is also survived by her mother, Wilma Jean Sharrock; her brother, Larry Clark; her sisters, Carol, Linda, and Patty, and their families. Cathy leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who loved her deeply.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. EST in the chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the event center following the service.
