Charles Whitmire

A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Greers Chapel Baptist Church in Kennesaw.

Mr. Whitmire was a truck driver with the Metaugus Solutions Company for many years. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Greers Chapel Baptist Church in Kennesaw. He loved the Smokey Mountains, especially the Pigeon Forge area, where he and his wife would camp for two weeks at a time. His love of being outdoors included riding his motorcycle, camping, and gardening. Mr. Whitmire was also a sports fan. He would watch football, Brave’s baseball, but nothing could compare to Nascar racing for him.

Those who survive Charles are his wife – Mary Ann Whitmire of Acworth; daughters – Vera Copeland of Dallas, GA, Donna Whitmire of Okeechobee, FL; sons – Bobby Whitmire of Miami, Joe Whitmire of Acworth, and Charlie Whitmire of Acworth; sister – Doris Hudson of Woodruff, SC. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Charles Whitmire memorial fund that has been set up by the family at the Regions Bank in Acworth, 4590 Morningside Drive, Acworth, GA 30101 c/o Mary Ann Whitmire.

Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw is in charge of arrangements.
