Known lovingly as “Yamma Mama” by her coworkers and “Sunshine” by her cherished daughter, Amanda, Chris was a beacon of joy, strength, and kindness. She worked as an administrative assistant at Yamaha for 38 years, a steady presence, always with a smile and a quick-witted joke, until she retired to fully embrace what she loved most—her family. Chris thrived in the simple joys of life: family dinners filled with stories and laughter, vacations that became lifelong memories, and quiet moments in her garden among blooming flowers. She poured her heart into her grandchildren, each one a star in her sky.
Her friendships were deep and true, built on genuine care and a knack for making everyone feel seen. She never met a stranger. To know Chris was to be loved unconditionally. Her humor could brighten the darkest day, her strength could move mountains, and her heart had no boundaries. She was selfless, forgiving, and endlessly supportive. Saying “no” just wasn’t in her vocabulary—she gave without hesitation and loved without limit. Chris was a fighter, a lover of life, and the kind of soul who left an imprint wherever she went. She saw the best in everyone, even when they couldn’t see it in themselves.
Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Jennings Fairey & Mary Nell Fairey; and brother Carey Jennings Fairey; aunt, Ann Barrett
She is survived by her son, Danny Rogers; daughters, Cari Rogers Gaines & husband Stephen and Amanda Murawski & husband Anthony; grandchildren, Levi Rogers, Brennen Gaines, Masen Murawski, and Taylor Gaines; ex-husband and friend, Randy Rogers, many cousins and other family members; and a vast circle of friends who will carry her spirit forward with laughter, love, and a few good pranks in her honor. The sunshine may have dimmed on Earth, but it now shines brighter in the heavens.
