David shared a beautiful love story with his beloved wife, Jeannie. Their journey began when Jeannie was working as a nurse and David stopped by to sell insurance. The moment he saw her, he knew she was the woman he would marry. David often shared that he had dreamed about her months before they met, and when he finally saw her in person, he recognized her immediately as the girl of his dreams. Just three months later, they were married, beginning a remarkable partnership that lasted forty-nine wonderful years.
A man of deep faith, David was a devoted member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church, where he especially enjoyed teaching Sunday School and sharing God's love with others. David was actively involved in his community and was a proud member of the Brunswick Rotary Club and the Propeller Club of Brunswick. He had a passion for sports and enjoyed playing golf, following athletic events, and cheering enthusiastically for Purdue University. Throughout the years, he devoted countless hours to coaching track, basketball, softball, and baseball, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of many young athletes.
Family was the center of David's world. He treasured family reunions at the family farm in Galveston, Indiana, and loved gathering loved ones together. Whether hosting a Low Country boil, sharing stories, or simply spending time with those he loved, David created memories that will be cherished for generations. His greatest joy came from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he treasured the special relationships he built with each member of his family.
David will be remembered for his gentle spirit, kind heart, strong work ethic, and calming presence. He had a unique gift for bringing comfort and peace to those around him. Family and friends often remarked that simply being in his presence made them feel at ease. His warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love touched countless lives.
