David Michael Loy

Following his high school career, Mike married the love of his life, Vicky Boswell Loy in August of 1972. The two together made their way to Atlanta where Mike began working at Atlantic Steel. Later, Mike went on to begin his career with the Atlanta Police Department, retiring several years later as a Homicide Detective. In his spare time he enjoyed biking and cheering on the University of Tennessee Volunteers. Mike was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend; he will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mike is preceded in passing by his father, Andy Loy Jr.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Vicky Loy; one son, Chad Loy, wife Allison, of Palm Harbor, Florida; his mother and step-father, Betty Jane Hamby, husband Barry; a brother, Larry Loy; five sisters, Gwen Easter, Angie Allstun, Anita Bryant, Kathy Sexton, and Sandy Hubbs; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life Memorial service to honor the life of Mike Loy will be held at three o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, September 30, 2018 in the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from one o’clock in the afternoon until the service hour on Sunday at the funeral home.
