Jan, David was an exceptional Man, he raised 3 wonderfully, beautiful sons. I am so fortunate to have known him. Please call me if you need anything.

My dearest Jan and family, as you know David was and is my dearest and oldest friend.  From the days on Flagstone Drive, going through grammar school together, David was always a very loving and loyal friend. Jan, I know that you will miss David so much, He was a very special man and I always enjoyed being in his company. He was always so thoughtful of others. He is at peace now and we will see him again. I'm so very thankful to have had David for my uncle.  He was such a large part of my life growing up and continues to be a positive influence even now.  He turned me on to The Eagles; I'll never forget him handing me the headphones and hearing "The Last Resort" for the very first time.  I was hooked!  He was such an example of how a man and a father should be.  I will never forget him or his generosity, his kindness, his compassion and his passion for life, his family and for God.  He lives forever in my heart.

Dear Perkins family, 
I would like to offer my deepest sympathy and most sincere condolences for your loss. Nanny and Grandaddy have always spoken very highly of David and we all knew him to be a very good man. He will be deeply missed. I apologize for being unable to attend the service today but my work schedule would not permit it. I will continue to lift you all up in prayer that the Lord will comfort you through this time. Keep in mind that He does not give us more than we can bare and someday you will see David again in perfect health and total happiness.

Our hearts go out to you Jan and your family.  David was a special neighbor to us.  He was always there to lend a hand, always working on a project.  His joy he had flowed over into every area of his life.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  Our prayers go out to you all.

Sam and I are so very sorry. We liked David so much. After reading this page I know I will never forget him. We have the same birthday, January 30; his Mom's name is Barbara Jean and so is mine; he retired from BellSouth after 30 years, so did I; but most of all he went to be with the Lord on December 18 and so did my Dad years ago. So, I will ALWAYS remember David at least once a year. Again, we are so very sorry..... The Barfields.

David has always been special to everyone he has ever know I am proud to have known him and Janice all these years my heart goes out to them and to there families I wrap my heart around this family always

I have very fond memories of David.  I really enjoyed working with him immensely and our mutual respect for each other led to our friendship.  He was bright, funny and we just connected.  I will miss you my friend.  My heartfelt condolences to his wife and family.
