

Orvil ‘Dean’ Harmon, 84, of Acworth, GA passed away on 15 September 2023. He was born on 18 June 1939 to Clarence Leon and Violet Arlene Harmon in Springfield, MO. He married Mary Helen Wiedel on 7 February 1981 in West Covina, CA. They moved to Georgia in 1991 and established their new home. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers David Leon and Van Allen Harmon and his niece Kelley Blanchard. He is survived by his wife, Mary, his stepsons, Phillip (Amy Eastman) of Chino Hills, CA, Mortensen, Kevin (Kathy Uncangco) Mortensen of Colorado Springs, CO, and Stephen (Pam O’Halleran) Mortensen of Puyallup, WA, brothers-in law and sisters-in-law John and Ann Wiedel Shea, Downey, CA, William Wiedel, San Bernardino, CA and James (Shelley Henderson) Wiedel, Cypress, CA, sister Robin Blackburn of Tigard, OR, and sister-in-law Phyllis Fero Harmon of Tigard, OR. Eight grandchildren, Matthew, Mitchell, Tanner, Chase and Ross Mortensen, Sarah Carter, Kristin Cataquet and Kevin Pallozzi, 7 great-grandchildren Avie, Quinn, James, Lane, Charlie, Andi and Isla, nephews Travis and Christopher Blackburn, two grandnieces and three grandnephews. He is also survived by a son Sampson Harmon and a daughter Sabrina Harmon. Dean is a veteran of the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Orleck
Visitation will be Saturday, 23 September 2023 at 10:00am at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 Cobb Pkwy N, Kennesaw, GA 30152, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00am and burial at 12:00pm.
