Dean Hart

March 13, 1931January 4, 2020

Dean Hart, age 88, passed away January 4, 2020 in Covington, Georgia. Dean was born on March 13, 1931, to the late Otho and Leona Walker, in Kosciusko, Mississippi. At a young age of sixteen, Dean met a man, Charles “Jack” Hart, while she was visiting family. For the next couple days they spent time together until she went back home in a neighboring city. The following days, Charles came to see her and they left together to become married. They spent the next most amazing forty-seven years together before his passing. They were an example of what true love really is. Throughout her life, Dean was family oriented, being one of thirteen children. This led into her own family, as she raised four children and helped where she could with her grandchildren. Dean was a very strong-willed woman who always spoke what was on her mind. She was very loving and compassionate and adored her family. Dean was also very lovable and to some was thought of as a perfect mother and grandmother. Along with her parents and husband, Dean Hart is preceded in death by her son, Jerry Hart; one brother and twelve sisters. She is survived by sons, Charles (Sharon) Hart and Jackie (Sandra) Hart; daughter, Patsy Andrews; eight grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. A funeral service to honor Dean Hart will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at two o’clock in the afternoon at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Ga 30152. A few years ago I was privileged to meet "Granny" through her grand-daughter Connie. Dean made me feel so welcome in her home! When I admired some coffee cups she had, she gave them to me. She invited me to come back and said we would visit the Monastery of the Holy Spirit, but I never did. That is a regret I will always have. I loved her total acceptance of others and her sense of humor most of all. Her place in heaven is reserved for sure.

I am so Blessed to have gotten to meet and spend time with grandma Dean. She reminded me of my grandma growing up. We had a lot of fun playing uno cards. Especially uno dare, she kept" daring" me to sing a country song. After about the 5th dare I asked her if she really wanted me to sing, and she said yes. Of all the songs I know, the only one that would come to my mind was the song from the jaws movie. I sang it, and she said it was beautiful. I'm not so sure, but she was happy so I was happy. That was Friday night. As we parted we were all still laughing and having a great time.
I will truly miss you sweet lady. Please keep my grandma and aunt judy company until we all meet again. I will always love you.

I am a very shy person when I am around new people. When I first met mom, she kind of reminded me of my grandma. Within the first five minutes of being with her, she made me feel at ease and felt like I had known her all of my life. She is such a special person and has made her daughter, Patsy, a special person as well. I wish I could have spent more time with Dean. My thoughts, prayers and love to Dean's family. I will always remember you. God bless you all.

I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Grandma Hart, one of my favorite memories of her was she always liked my shirts and insisted that I take it off and give to her.....even my work shirt, but I told her she would have to go to work to get one for herself.... I will truly miss her but will never forget the fun, comical loving woman we called Grandma! RIP.... ❤❤❤❤💖💖
