

Deanna Fullerton Womack was born on July 9, 1949 in Birmingham, AL and passed away on July 18, 2026 at the age of 77. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Grady Fullerton Jr. and Ruth Lynn Fitzpatrick Fullerton, brother John Grady Fullerton, and husband, Robert Lee Womack IV.
Survived by daughter Karen Mei-Ying Womack Ho and husband Patrick Ho, daughter Juliet Mei-Ling Womack Wright and husband Grier Wright, all of Acworth, GA. Also survived by brother Ronald Mark Fullerton and wife Phyllis Fullerton, niece Emily Fullerton and nephews David Fullerton, Andy Fullerton, and Alex Fullerton.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 at Restland Cemetery, Dallas, TX.
Deanna graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, Houston, TX, in 1967. She received a BA in Speech and English Education from University of Houston in 1971, a Master’s Degree in Communication from The University of Kansas in 1980, and a Ph.D. of Communication Studies from The University of Kansas in 1982.
Deanna spent her entire 40+ year career in education. From 1975 to 1976 she was an Instructor of English at Tunghai University, Taichung, Taiwan. After returning from Taiwan, Deanna was a Professor of Communication at a variety of universities such as Emerson College, Northern Illinois University, Rhode Island College, Harvard Business School, Stonehill College, and Kennesaw State University. She retired from Kennesaw State University in August 2019.
Deanna loved teaching, cats, quilting, sudoku, and her precious granddaughters, Oaklee and Kai Ho. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother.
