On February 18, 1959, God blessed the world the day she was born, and He called her home June 8, 2024. She was born in Austell, Ga to Paul and “Jo” Ann Stamper, later known as Papaw and Nanay.
She grew up in Smyrna, Georgia with her sister Cathy always keeping an eye on her and younger brothers David and Danny. The four siblings always had a tight bond and Debbie was the sweet blonde hair girl with the beautiful icy blue eyes like her dad. She attended Wills High School and those icy blue eyes caught the attention of a special young man that became the love of her life, Peter “Shawn” Zamaria. She would marry and journey through life with him at her side. They were blessed with a daughter, Shonda that completed their family. They shared a beautiful life together and only those closest to them understood the beauty and depth of their love.
Early career Debbie worked at Davison’s department store (that later became Macy’s) for many years. She always dressed and looked so stylish in her work clothes, but loved to get into her blue jeans when not at work. She later worked at Wellstar for 22 years before retiring.
Along the way, she loved spending time with Shawn, Shonda, and grandsons Dillon and Jacob, that became the center of her universe for many years. She adored time spent with Shonda shopping, and loving on lots of fur babies. Her favorite dog was Chelsea and was very special to her. This sweet and precious dog saved her life at the beginning of her illness and was by her side 10 years more until she was called home.
Those who knew her knew Debbie as a kind, loving, sweet woman that loved deeply and passionately. Although, she was known to be quite the mama (or Nana) bear when needed. She was a joy to be near and her laughter would light up any room.
She leaves behind her daughter, Shonda Zamaria Webb, son-in-law Donny Webb, grandsons Dillon Carder (wife Lupe Carder), and Jacob Webb. Extended family left behind includes siblings Cathy Stamper Whitaker (husband Kenny Whitaker), brother David Stamper ( late wife Roxie Stamper), Danny Stamper(wife Sharnee Stamper) and sister-in-law Gail Zamaria Hollingsworth (husband Larry Hollingsworth), and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and very special friends that she loved dearly.
She is missed by everyone that knew her, but all that knew her rejoice that she is now with the love of her life for eternity.
Being a very simple and private person her wishes were to not have a funeral, but that others would reflect on her life remembering the good times God blessed her with throughout life. Very special songs she would want to share with others are Go Rest High on that Mountain, by Vince Gill, and Broken Halos, by Chris Stapleton. The family prays that these songs will bless you as they did her.
