

Dolores K. Baker, age 96, of Dallas, Georgia passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024. Dolly was born in Wickhaven, Pennsylvania on May 4, 1928, to an immigrant Slovene coal mining family. Dolly had one sister Polly, and one brother Joe. Dolly and her sister had a wonderful music career that they loved, the Kendall Sisters. They started at a very young age, traveling around, singing at fairs, and ended up with a radio and television show. They were part of the first broadcast from WEWS Cleveland. The Kendall Sisters TV show debut in 1952. They were inducted into the Polka Hall of Fame and Country Western Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio in 1993. She was a great singer and guitar player. She loved her music and man could she yodel. Dolly was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a great cook, but her biggest joy was spending time with her family. She loved to crochet, play the organ, and play her guitar. She had a great sense of humor. Dolores is survived by her daughters, Denise White (H.D.); Diane Boles (David); Debra Comer (David); and son James Baker (Lori), ten grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and three nieces. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary Potokar Kendall; her brother Joseph Kendall and her sister Polly Popovich. A visitation for Dolores will be held Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152, followed by a a celebration of life memorial service at 1:00 PM.
