

Don was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late Frank and Armella Joganic. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Philosophy. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in December of that year at Quantico, VA. He loved the Marine Corps and worked his way up to Colonel and eventually retired from Marine Corps Reserves in 1985. While in the reserves, he worked for the United Parcel Service and contributed to the evolution of the UPS air operation in Atlanta, GA. He retired from UPS in 1995.
He married Annette Joganic in Quantico, VA in 1962. They eventually had two daughters, Laura Joganic born in Twentynine Palms, CA and Brenda Joganic Wood, Atlanta, GA who is married to Douglas Wood. In addition to his loving wife Annette and their daughters is he survived by his sister Eileen Denlinger, of Livermore, CA and her children Mish and Tyr Denlinger. Grandchildren are Alex Damron, Chandler Wood, Peyton Wood and Morgan Wood. He is preceded in death by Johnnie Damron, his first grandchild.
Even through all of his hard work and dedication to the Marine Corps and UPS he managed to find time for his much loved hobbies. In the early years he enjoyed photography and developing his own pictures. Later he became a licensed private pilot owning a Cessna then to deep sea fishing with his Grady White and golfing. He always found time for the things he loved and for the things that were necessary in life. He could “fix” anything.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, GA.
He will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA on Tuesday October 27, 2015 at 9 a.m.
