I knew Don (Donnie) when he was a 15-16 year old wonderful, kind and loving guy. His legacy will live on through those who loved him.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew him but I know God called him home and the reasons are left to Him.  God bless you Sandra, Tom, Debbie and Tyler.  May you find comfort in knowing he is at peace.

I was fortunate enough to be able to work with Don on a daily basis for the last 2 years and I miss him more than anything in the world. He was always able to make me laugh even though we had never met in person and live in different states, he just had that affect on people. I'll miss his silly drawings on his paperwork that always made me smile. He made my job not seem like a job but something that was fun. I wish I could've been there to give you my condolences but I know that all my GA techs are there for you both. Your in my heart and prayers.

We were only at Acworth football for 2 yrs, but I was fortunate enough to meet Don early on. He was such a kind guy and made my concession duty bearable. We are praying for you and your family. God be with you.

Reading through these posted entries reinforces what our family already knows.  Don was a bright and shining star with an ever-present smile on his face, contagious energy and a quick wit.  

It is with heavy heart that today we honor the life that is Don Potter.

-It seems like just yesterday when baseball first started, Tyler & Tate were 5-Acworth was short on coaches, Mike was ask to coach. You approached Mike and told him you had a son on his team and "if there was anything he could do to let him know", and Mike said "Help me Coach", and that was the beginning of a Friendship!! 
As we got to know you, I told Mike, "I believe you have met your match"! You were the cleanest most organized, on top of it person I had ever met. You took care of us all, if there was something we needed you would get it, if you couldn't, you would make it!.
-So many memories made at that Baseball & Football Field..We will miss you Don Potter-your Friendship and the memories will forever be treasured. Prayers to the Potter & Tawse Family!

I only had the pleasure of knowing Don for 3 short years! I am blessed to have had such an opportunity. When I walked through the gates on Saturday morning he was the first person I saw week after week! His smile, his laugh and his jokes were what we all love about Don! Don was a kind caring man who touched many lives, everyone knew Don. We will continue to remember the times he made us laugh (which was often), whenever there was a need, he was there in a moments notice (eh hm....the door knob story?), his animal whisperer abilities and the dearest thing to our hearts, his playful attitude, he played with all the kids, especially, the one who meant the most to him, his son Tyler. One of my friends said it best, Don was the "pied piper" there was never a moment where he wasn't swarmed by kids. We were lucky to have him in our life and we are honored to call him our friend. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family and his close friends.
