Mrs. Doris Helen Loftus, age 94, of Acworth, passed away February 23, 2015. She was a volunteer at the Cherokee Training Center in Canton, GA and she made every effort to improve the quality of life of the mentally handicapped. As a Charter Member of St. Catherine's of Siena Roman Catholic Church, she was a loyal volunteer there as well and was a wonderful artist and loved to quilt by hand.
Mrs. Loftus was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William Joseph Loftus, Jr.
Survived by her children; Dr. William J. Loftus, III and his wife, Debbie, John "Jack" Loftus, Thomas Loftus and his wife, Patricia, Lea Weaver and her husband, David, Suzanne Loftus; 11 grandchildren, Mary, Colleen, Kathy, Lisa, Terry, jackie, John, Tina, Tami, Tucker, Caroline and 18 great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be said at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, 1618 Ben King Road, Kennesaw, GA 30144, at 10:30 AM Thursday Feb. 26. Father John Matjek officiating. Interment at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens at a later date.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
