Dorothy Everett Hayes, of Kennesaw, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2026.
A Celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw, Georgia, with Alan Kuykendall officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.
Interment will follow the funeral service at Kennesaw Memorial Park, 1306 Whitlock Avenue, Marietta, Georgia.
Dorothy was a longtime member of Eastwood Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as the church librarian for many years. She had a lifelong love of reading and found great joy in books, always delighting in sharing that passion with others.
Born in Maryville, Tennessee, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Enoch and Blanche Everett and was the oldest daughter among eight children.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Boyd; her grandchildren, Haley Boyd and Derek Boyd; her brothers, Sampson Everett, Ralph Everett, Jimmy Everett, and Tommy Everett; and her sister, Barbara Taylor.
Dorothy leaves behind her devoted husband, Jim Hayes; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Stacey Hayes; her son-in-law, Lester Boyd; her five cherished grandchildren, Blair Boyd, Ashley Hayes, Hannah Hayes, Katie Cavin (Colter), and Abigail Burns (Adam); her sisters, Shirley Jones (David) and Wilma Caughorn; along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her.
