After graduating from Commercial High School in 1945, she worked in the accounting department of the Georgia State Health Department until she retired in June, 1977. She was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, Joe B. Lord. She was an actively participating member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church until her failing health prevented her involvement. She is survived by a nephew, Frank Tomlin of Kennesaw, a niece, Kathee Williams of Woodstock, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephew. The family will receive visitors Friday, May 3, 2013 between 6 and 8 pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw, GA 770-422-7299. Graveside and Burial Service, conducted by Rev. Keith Ivey, will be Saturday, May 4, at 11:00 am. at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta.
