Also known as “Speedy” and “Eddie Bo,” Eddie was known for his contagious laugh and kind, gentle personality. He enjoyed classic cars, being outdoors and being on the water. He especially enjoyed boating. Eddie was a talented musician who played the guitar and piano by ear. He participated in many bands throughout his lifetime playing classic rock.
Edward Pickens is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Margie Pickens and sister Janis Hulon. He is survived by his wife, Karen Pickens; son, Jeff Pickens; daughter, Lindsey and her husband Preston Murray; brothers, Alvin “Al” and his wife Kaye Pickens, Bob and his wife Sue Pickens; sister, Vicki and her husband Jerry McFalls; brother-in-law, Jim Hulon; and grand-fur-child, Fitzgerald Murray.
The friends and family of Eddie Pickens are invited to a wake, held from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with a Rosary at 8:30 PM on Monday, July 30th, 2018. A Funeral Mass to honor Mr. Pickens will be held at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 31st, 2018.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be designated to either Saint Catherine of Siena Church or Glioblastoma Research at the Mayo Clinic. More information on each cause can be found below:
