Mr. Emery Harry Paulsen went to be with Lord May 17, 2013. Funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge funeral home with Drs. William Camp and Joe Brothers officiating. Burial with military honors will be on Wednesday, May 22, 11:30 am at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
Born in Hartley, Iowa on March 12, 1930 to Harry and Amelia Paulsen, Emery was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He was a longtime employee for Lockheed-Martin as a Flight Test Engineer. His passion for aircrafts led to many jobs within the Flight Test Engineering parameter, McDonald-Douglas, Aerospatiale Helicopter, and Lockheed being the main benefactors of his talents.
During the lean times in the aircraft industry, Emery worked in the building and remodeling business in Arlington, TX. In 1995, Emery was grateful to get back to his first love and moved to Smyrna, Ga. to work at Lockheed in Marietta.
Emery is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janeen Ann Mattlin Paulsen of Acworth, Ga; sister Ruth Gilman of Mankato, MN; brothers – Wayne Paulsen of Milford, IA and Curtis Paulsen of Spencer, IA. Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Emery’s family will be receiving friends on Monday, May 20 from 7-9pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Moody Church, 1635 N La Salle Drive, Chicago, IL 60614 or the Moody Bible Institute, 820 N La Salle Street, Chicago, IL 60610, or moodyministries.net.
