Erline Mason Kerns

Erline Mason Kerns, age 91, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019. She was born June 18, 1927 in Rome, Georgia to Homer and Viola Mason. She married Robert M. Kerns in January of 1948 and remained married until his death in December 1985.

Erline was preceded in death by her oldest son, Terry Madison Kerns, in November 2017, and two brothers Billy and Ralph. She is survived by daughter Teresa Williams and husband Morris, son Steve Kerns and wife Tracey, sister Rebecca Strickland and husband Ralph, and grandchildren Rob, Colin, Ronnie, Kristy, Kelly, Katy, Andy, Cameron, and Kim. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Kerns worked for Dr. John E. Bush in Smyrna, Georgia for over twenty-five years as a dental assistant and receptionist. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will also be remembered as a wonderful cook and a woman who enjoyed reading and shopping. Her caregivers for the last couple of years at Atherton Place in Marietta, Georgia came to love her as a woman with a spunky, spicy, spirited personality. She will be missed.

A visitation for Erline will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 10:30 to 11:30am at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 Cobb Pkwy NW, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152. Following the visitation, lunch and a time of fellowship will be held at her daughter's home and those wishing to attend the graveside services will meet at 2:30pm at East View Cemetery, 725 Kingston Ave NE, Rome, Georgia 30161-5637.
