Ermma was a loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and a loyal, compassionate friend. She and her husband Bill enjoyed 49 years of marriage. She loved to read, sewed beautiful quilts, and enjoyed playing Canasta with friends. And she doted on her poodle, Bradley. She taught history at Pace Middle School (later Simms Middle School), and served as Principal at Avalon Middle School in Milton, Florida for 11 years where she was lovingly known as the Avalon Knights’ “Queen of the Castle.” Bill and Ermma left the Pensacola area in 2010 to retire in Dallas, Georgia.
Mrs. Ermma Fillingim is survived by her husband William Fillingim, their daughter Ashley Fillingim Cummings, and grandchildren Mackenzie and Parker Cummings, as well as her uncle Farrell Taylor and his family.
The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 1-3pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
The services for Mrs. Ermma Fillingim are entrusted to the care of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home at 2950 N. Cobb Pkwy Kennesaw, GA 30152, at 770-422-7299.
