Ernest Elgin Barnes

Ernest Elgin Barnes, age 83, of Dallas, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Ernest was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, to whom he was married for 63 and a half years. He was a hard worker who enjoyed what he did, and continued to work for long as he could only stopping at age 82. When he wasn't working, Ernest was an avid reader that also took the time to help repair lawn mowers. He will be remembered as an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who cared for his faith as a Christian. A special thanks is extended to Keith and Rebecca Robinson, Mack and Stephanie Flowers, and Betty Barnes for being there for the family.

Ernest is survived by his wife, Barbara Bennett Barnes; his daughters Sherry Seigler (Charles) and Shelby York (Tony Johnson); his sister Linda White (Larry), his brothers Dennis Barnes (Sherry), Tony Barnes (Marsha) and sister-in-law Betty Barnes; his grandsons Brady Ryan Seigler, Logan Anthony Johnson (Taylor), Andrew Dillon Barnes; granddaughter Becca Sun Barnes; great grandson Lincoln Elgin Johnson, many nieces and nephews

Ernest was preceded in death by his son Richard Ernest Barnes; parents Elbert Esco Barnes and Ruby Irene Booth Barnes; his brother David Barnes and sister Nancy Elrod and brother-in law Joe.

A visitation for Ernest will be held Monday, July 28, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. A visitation will occur Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will at Pine Ridge Memorial Park, 2950 Cobb Parkway North, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152.
