Ernest Ernie V. Ruda

A native of Buffalo, NY, Mr. Ruda was born on January 24, 1930 the son of the late Walter and Edna Frances (Domin) Ruda. Mr. Ruda was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the United States Navy. Prior to retirement, he was employed as an electrical engineer with the Georgia Technical Research Institute. He was a loving and devoted husband having been married to the former Loretta Margaret “Laurie” Kozlowski for 58 years. He and Laurie spent over 20 years landscaping the Bells Ferry Road and I-575 roadways for others to enjoy. In 2004, Mr. Ruda was honored with the Keep Georgia Beautiful, Steve Reynolds “Man of The Year” award.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Ruda. Three sons, Christopher (Valerie) Ruda, Joel (Robin) Ruda, and Andrew ( Chrissie) Ruda. Two daughters, Mary Ellen Taylor and Celine (Tony) Dalfonso. One sister-in-law, Terry Ruda. Eleven grandchildren also survive.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Chapel.
