Estilhomme Saintil, age 79, passed away on May 17, 2026. Born on May 1, 1947, in Port De Paix, Haiti, he was the son of Vilbrun Saintil and Norcilia Dominique. In 1979, he came to the United States in search of a better life for his family, carrying with him a steadfast resolve and a deep sense of responsibility that would shape the years that followed.
Over the course of more than 30 years, Mr. Saintil worked diligently for the Broward County School District, serving with consistency, pride, and a quiet dedication to daily work well done. He was also a talented chef—widely regarded as exceptionally good at what he did—bringing care and skill to the table in a way that reflected the warmth he extended to others. His generosity was not occasional but defining; he was known for giving freely of himself to friends and family alike. In the community, he was affectionately called “Ti Bondye,” a name that spoke to the enduring impression of his kindness and the breadth of his goodwill.
A man of faith, Mr. Saintil was a member of Beyond Horizon Church, where he maintained a strong connection to God. His life left a lasting mark—one grounded in service, compassion, and a steady commitment to those he loved. The loss will be felt by many, as he was a force of goodwill and positivity who will be deeply missed.
Mr. Saintil is survived by his sister Saintelaine Juste and Madelaine Saintil; his four sons, Hubermann, Stivy, Odnor, and Abraham; and his eight daughters, Wilza, Sherly, Barbara, Retha, Muriam, Marie, Guerline, and Megan; grandchildren, Patricia, Vladimir, Ralph, Sarah, Nahum, Bernice, Noah, Donovan, Danley, Britney, Diana, Cariah and 3 Great Grandchildren; nephews, Andre, Waldex, Ernst, Bentley and many nieces, in-laws and other friends and families who were considered to be some of his precious treasures.
He was preceded in passing by his brothers Yves, Ofrane, and Derius, and his sisters Jesula and Desinette.
Gramps Morgan must have written this song with you in mind Estilhomme, for the profound lyrics describe you, and all you stood for, so perfectly: “If you give a little more than you take and if you try to fix more than you break. If you’re the kind who takes the time to help a stranger in the rain, there’s a place for people like you. If you stand up for those who down on their knees and lend a voice to those who cannot speak, if you shine a little light and give sight to the ones who’ve lost their way, there’s a place for people like you.”
