He was born and raised in Indiana, son of the late Elery E. and Mary Wolfe of Bremen. He was predeceased by his wife, Constance “Connie” Ruby Weisman Wolfe of Celina, Ohio and Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and seven brothers and sisters.
Lt. Col. Wolfe served with the United States Marine Corp in WWII, Korea (Chosen Reservoir), and Vietnam, and was a National Park Ranger with assignments at Cumberland Gap, Yosemite, Natchez, Jamestown, The Great Smokey Mountains, and Kennesaw Mountain. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana University.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law David and Joan Wolfe of Aurora, Colorado, son and daughter-in-law Mark and Leia Wolfe of Acworth, Georgia, and son and partner Kurt and Rick Berry of Lexington, Georgia; grandchildren Ashley Wolfe Leonard (husband Tommy Leonard), and Erik Wolfe, great-grandchildren Lacy and Jackson Leonard, and brother and sister-in-law Robert and Ruth Wolfe of Bremen, Indiana and brother Lynn Wolfe of Denver, Colorado.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m., and service will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, Georgia, with internment at Pine Ridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw.
