Harold Barrer

Harold Baden Barrer, age 89, of Acworth, GA, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020. He was born on April 15, 1931 in Atlanta, GA, to his late parents; William S. and Lucille Davenport Barrer. Mr. Barrer was Methodist by faith. Harold served in many capacities in the United States Marine Corps with over 25 years of service. He was a man of many hobbies and enjoyed sailing, piloting his ultralight, spending time with his family and serving in the Masonic Lodge. Harold was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Peggy Jo Phelps Barrer of Acworth, GA, children; Harold B. Barrer, Jr. and partner Mindy Campagna Miskuff of Buford, GA, Frank (Pat) Barrer of Powder Springs, GA, grandchildren; Steven R. Barrer, Jennifer (Tommy) Rodgers, great grandchildren; Payton, Austin, Macie, Corbin, Jackson and several nieces, nephews and special friends.

Private Graveside Services for Mr. Barrer will be held on Tuesday July 28, 2020 at The Georgia National Cemetery with Reverend Greg Hall officiating. Interment will follow the service at The Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home on Monday July 27, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service or visitation in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions. (No more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time) If attending the visitation or service, the staff of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing is practiced to help prevent the spreading any possible illnesses and to help keep our visitors, friends and the family members of Mr. Barrer safe.
