

Harold attended East Springfield Methodist Church and graduated from Amsterdam High School in 1950. That year, Harold began his job at Weirton Steel, entered military service, and served in the US Army throughout the Korean War. Upon completing his service, he returned home to Weirton Steel, married and had two children and settled in Richmond, Ohio.
Harold retired from Weirton Steel in the early 1980’s after 30 years of service. He began a second career at Beloit Manhattan in 1984 that moved him to Mississippi and later to Aiken, South Carolina. He retired from Beloit as a Regional General Manager and Director of Manufacturing, Europe Facilities in 1998. Harold and his wife moved to the Atlanta area upon his second retirement and most recently to Celebration Village Acworth.
Harold enjoyed following Ohio State Football, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Indians. He had a passion for all sports, especially baseball and coached Youth Baseball in Wintersville and Richmond, Ohio. He also spent a good bit of time playing golf with friends at Belview Park and Spring Hills Golf Courses and Houndslake Country Club.
Harold is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Kathy) S. Skeeles, his son and daughter, William H. Skeeles (spouse Mary) and Shirley E. Rupert (spouse Ed); and grandchildren Michael E. Rupert (spouse Bethany), Michelle N. McGinnis (spouse David) and Katie Settles (spouse Robert). Harold is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, his sibling Lorainne Ramsey, as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceding Harold in death are his parents, Albert and Mary, and siblings Eileen Hendrix and Mildred Huber.
Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home will be overseeing the local arrangements with visitation and a service on Sunday, November 16, 2025. Harold will then travel home to Wintersville, Ohio for a service at Everhart-Bove Funeral Home and burial at Fort Stueben Burial Estates on Saturday, November 22, 202
