Harry B. Scogin, age 74 passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023. Harry was born in Newnan, Georgia. He lived most of his life in Cobb County, graduated from McEachern High School. He was a man of great faith and served as Deacon at Christ Life Church. Harry had ministered with the Perkins family in their music ministry. He achieved the title of Master Honda Technician with the Ed Voyles car dealership where he spent 30 years employed. In his younger years, Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. He enjoyed life regardless of his circumstances. If you were honored to know Harry, you knew you had a lifelong friend.
Harry is survived by his wife Carol Sue Hamilton; daughters Lora Wissman, Marci McDougald (Danny) and Natalie Scogin; his 5 grandchildren Jayde, Hailey, Ireland, Tara, and Payton and 4 great grandchildren Caleb, Abel, Winter, and Sailem. Harry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years Ann Scogin, his father Thomas Elwood Scogin Sr, mother Sara Pauline Scogin, and brothers Thomas Elwood Jr and Richard.
A celebration of life memorial service for Harry will be held Sunday, November 5, 2023, 3pm at Christ Life Church, 2508 Macland Rd, Dallas, GA 30157 with Pastors Glenn Pittman and Rick Perkins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Harry's memory may be made to Christ Life Church, 2508 Macland Rd, Dallas, GA 30157, and United Christian Fellowship, 10723 Rocky Ford Rd, Piedmont, AL 36272.
