Heidi Elfriede Johns

Heidi Elfriede Johns lived a life filled with curiosity, creativity, service, and a deep love for her family.

She was a dedicated military wife and worked as a translator for the Americans at the U.S. Military Base in Frankfurt, Germany. She later attended college, studying Fine Arts with an emphasis on Asian art. She had a lifelong love of the arts. She especially enjoyed watercolor painting, attending art classes, and visiting museums. Her love of learning and appreciation for beauty remained a meaningful part of her life.

She also believed strongly in giving back to her community. She volunteered as a district manager with the American Red Cross and served as a board member for the Friends of the Library, giving her time to organizations that were important to her.

Above all, she was a devoted and supportive mother to her two daughters. Her family was deeply important to her, and she was a constant source of love, encouragement, and support.

She had a genuine curiosity about people and their life journeys. She loved hearing where people came from, what interested them, what they cared about, and the experiences that had shaped their lives. She believed that everyone had a story worth hearing, and she had a remarkable ability to make people feel that their lives and experiences mattered.

She also found great joy in the natural world. She delighted in beautiful clouds in the sky, a full moon, flowers in her garden, and birds and butterflies that came to visit. She was drawn to old barns and houses, often wondering about the people who had lived there and the stories those places might hold.

She will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, curiosity, and generous spirit; for the beauty she found in art and nature; for the genuine interest she took in the lives of others; and most of all, for the love she gave so freely to her family.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters, family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
