Helen Ruth Baxter

Helen Ruth Baxter, age 82, of Canton, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 28, 2017. She was born on Wednesday, July 10, 1935 to the late Robert and Eunice Miller. Mrs. Baxter graduated as salutatorian from Snellville High School in 1951 in Snellville, GA. She then went on to marry the love of her life, Wilburn “Bill” Archie Baxter on Saturday, October 23, 1954 at Ousley Chapel in East Atlanta. Helen was employed by America Fore Insurance Co. and retired from Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA where she worked as an accounts payable clerk. Helen was devoted to her faith and was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church and Fortified Hills Baptist Church in Dallas, GA. Although Helen enjoyed her hobbies, such as hiking, gardening and jigsaw puzzles, her greatest passion was for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Helen Ruth Baxter is survived by her husband, Bill Baxter; son, Robert Asa Baxter; daughters, Kathy (Gary) Spinks, Julie (Rod) Walker, Jil (Brad) Grantham; sister, Jean McCoy; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The family of Helen Baxter will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, December 31, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Baxter will be held on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Burial will follow services at Pine Ridge Memorial Park.

The family has entrusted the services of Helen Ruth Baxter to the care of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.
