

Horace Thomas Gill II, age 67, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026 in Kennesaw, Georgia. Thomas was born on November 14, 1958 in Raleigh, North Carolina, the son of Horace Thomas Gill Sr. and Sandra Hughes. Thomas was the proud father of 7 children and 5 grandchildren.
Thomas joined the military as a young man and served his entire career in the Army stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base, in Anchorage Alaska where he served as a cook, until his retirement in 1994. After his retirement from the Army, he moved back home to North Carolina where he met Pamela Adams Gill. They married January 5, 1995, and together they had 3 children.
In his spare time Thomas enjoyed sports, especially basketball; his favorite team was the Charlotte Hornets. He also loved collecting things; his favorite items to collect were novelty items such as vintage grandfather clocks, baseball cards, animatronics, old coins, vintage toys, etc.
Thomas is survived by his mother, Sandra Hughes Johnson; his wife of 31 years, Pamela Gill; daughters, Daisy Barnes of Anchorage, Alaska , Francis Gill of Anchorage, Alaska, Elizabeth Gill of Anchorage, Alaska, Tabitha Gill of Kennesaw, Ga and Cherokee Gill of Kennesaw, Ga; 2 sons, Damien Gill and Horace Thomas Gill III of Kennesaw, Ga; 5 grandchildren; brother, David Gill of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Pamela Gill Pitre of Raleigh, NC and Rudy Gill of Mt. Pleasant, SC.
He is preceded in death by his father, Horace Thomas Gill Sr.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 5, 2026 10am-12pm, with the Celebration of Life following at 12pm from the Chapel of Winkenhofer Funeral Home, Kennesaw, Georgia. Mr. Gill will be buried with military honors at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114.
