Ara was born and spent the first 53 years of her life in Tehran, Iran, where she started her family and pursued passions and higher education in fashion and floral design. Iran was her home and where many of her most beloved memories took place.
Ara was a woman of extraordinary resilience and courage, embodying the spirit of a trailblazer. Her unwavering belief in the power of equality and education, along with her dedication to her family, defined her life’s mission. She fought to give her family a better life through education and opportunities in the United States, bravely sending her children first and later escaping Iran and joining them in the late ‘80’s.
Above all else, Ara cherished her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband Muhammed, and a loving mother to her children Kambiz, Keivan (Kevin), and Katayoun (Kathy). Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she cared for and adored, were a constant source of joy and inspiration in her later years. They fondly remember their days with “Mommie and Papa”, being served perfectly arranged fruits and vegetables on silver platters and absorbing all the love and wisdom they had to offer.
Ara’s life was a testament to kindness, compassion, and a deep appreciation for beauty in all its forms. She embraced her passion for family, friends, food, flowers, and fashion, creating a beautiful life and experiencing an abundance of each. Her talents brought joy to many and left an enduring mark on the world, with her poetry being published by the Shah of Iran while she was in the 8th grade, among many other accomplishments.
Memories of Ara will be cherished by her loved ones: Daughter-in-law Linda Ghaffar-Jabbari, Son Kevin and Nellie Jabbari, Daughter Kathy and Steve Adams, 6 grandchildren and their significant others, 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, caretakers, and friends. Her spirit of strength and grace will continue to guide us, and her life serves as a testament to the enduring power of the human spirit and the profound impact one individual can have on her family and the world.
Ara has been reunited with her husband Muhammed Ghaffar-Jabbari, son Kambiz Ghaffar-Jabbari and great-grandson Baker Adams in eternity.
