James "Jimmy" Kenneth Greenway, age 86, of Acworth, Georgia passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022. Jimmy was born July 8, 1935 in Ellijay, Georgia to Lela Evalee Bennett Greenway and Rual Clay Greenway. Jimmy joined the United States Army and was in the 127th Signal Battalion in Korea. He was also a member of the Acworth Masonic Lodge 176 for over 54 years where he was a Worshipful Master. He attended Oak Grove Baptist Church where he was a faithful member. Jimmy enjoyed the Atlanta Braves, Golf and the Georgia Bulldogs! Professionally, he worked in Quality Control with General Motors for 41 years. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him, some affectionately knew him as "Frog".
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Roma Ross Greenway; daughter, Tania Leigh and her husband Jeff James of Acworth, Georgia; his sisters, Yvonne and her husband Tom Parker of Acworth, Georgia and Catherine and her husband Linford Meador of Acworth, Georgia; grandson, Ethan Terry (Bethany), grandson, Grayson Terry (Katie), grandson Dylan James; grand dog Ace as well as a number of other family members and friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynna Rae Greenway Terry; his mother, Lela Evalee Bennett Greenway and his father, Rual Clay Greenway and lastly a brother, Jerald Clay Greenway.
A visitation for Jimmy will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152. A funeral service will occur Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 2:00 PM, from the Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Chapel. A graveside service will occur Thursday, February 10, 2022 following the funeral service at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens, 4355 GA-92, Acworth, GA 30102 with military and masonic honors taking place.
