Jason Anthony Adams, 55, passed away on September 30, 2026. Born in Downey, California, and raised in Bloomfield, New Jersey, Jason spent the last few years of his life in Kennesaw, Georgia. Moving there to be closer to his aunt and cousins fulfilled a longtime dream. Although his time there was too short, his family is grateful he had the opportunity to make that dream a reality.
Jason graduated from Bloomfield Tech High School, where he was catcher on the baseball team, before becoming a United States Marine. A proud New York Mets fan, his love of baseball stayed with him throughout his life. He was fortunate to coach his daughter, Abigail, in softball and enjoyed it so much that he continued coaching even after she finished playing.
His greatest pride was being a father to his daughter, Abigail Faith, and his son, Wyatt Henry. Nothing meant more to Jason than his children. They were his world, and he never missed an opportunity to let others know how proud he was to be their dad. He adored them and always wanted the best for them.
Jason shared his love of baseball, comic books, and video games with his son, Wyatt. He also loved rock music and had a passion for cooking, which began while working at several Italian restaurants in his early twenties. In his later years, those close to him knew him especially for the meats he spent hours preparing in his smoker, taking as much pleasure in sharing the food as he did in making it.
Private, loyal, and entirely his own person, Jason had strong opinions and an offbeat sense of humor. Even in the toughest times, he found a way to laugh. He valued the trust others placed in him and kept their confidences. Those who knew him understood his generous heart, his distinctive way of expressing himself, and his desire to help. His family and friends loved him for everything that made him unique.
Jason joins his late mother and father, Karen and Arnold “Rick” McGhie; his grandparents, Rafelli and Edna Filippini; as well as his dear aunts, uncles, and other family members who passed before him.
He leaves behind his beloved children, Abigail Faith and Wyatt Henry; his older brother, Richard; his sister, Desiree, and his brother-in-law, Anthony; his youngest sister, Maneen; his Aunt Diana; his Aunt Joanie and Uncle Ed; and his many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He is also lovingly remembered by his lifelong best friend, Danny Kane, whose friendship became family.
In keeping with Jason’s wishes, his loved ones will honor him with a celebration of life, remembering his humor, his individuality, and the love he had for his family and friends.
Jason will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and always loved.
