Mr. Jay Butler, 50, of Marietta, passed away Monday October 15, 2012. Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 20, beginning at 11 am from the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.
A 1980 graduate of Huron High School in Huron, OH, Jay was known for his athleticism as a catcher for the baseball team. He spent some time playing baseball in college at Southern Tech in Marietta. Into adulthood, Jay continued his love of sports by playing softball and becoming a very competitive bowler having bowled several perfect games. The two sports teams he always cheered for were the Falcons in the fall and he and his Mom were super huge Braves fans. Jay loved his boxers – Apollo and Zues, they were his children. His love for animals allowed him to take in a dog (Chassy) no one else wanted because she was already an adult and had only three legs. A long time employee at Classic Collision in Marietta, Jay loved the people he worked with and became the Production Manager.
Those who survive Mr. Butler are his Sisters: Chris Di Natale of Acworth and Kym Gatti of Roswell; Brother: Jeff Butler of Marietta; Nieces and Nephews: Ashley Taylor Di Natale, Lorenzo Gatti, Demarco Gatti and Aleena Butler.
The Family will receive Friends Friday, October 19, from 6pm – 9pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw. In lieu of flowers donations have been requested to assist with the Funeral expenses be made at in any Regions Bank, account number 0165210697, in memory of Jay Butler. Any remaining funds will be sent by the Family to an Animal Rescue Charity.
