Jean A. Pascucci, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and devoted public servant, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, at the age of 81. Born in Washington, D.C., on April 26, 1944, Jean lived a life defined by love, service, and deep connection to family and community.
Jean shared 58 beautiful years of marriage with her husband and lifelong partner, Robert Pascucci. Their enduring love was the foundation of a close-knit family filled with laughter, support, and cherished traditions. Together, they raised two children and built a life rich in happiness and joy.
Jean’s professional life was marked by extraordinary dedication and achievement. Over the course of a distinguished 30-year career in the federal government, she served with honor at the Civil Services Commission, the Uniformed Services Medical School, and ultimately as the Deputy Director of all Civilian Personnel at the Pentagon. Her leadership, integrity, and commitment to excellence earned her the highest civilian award from the Department of Defense—an honor that reflected the deep respect she garnered throughout her career.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jean was a woman of many passions. She loved reading, cinema, theater, solving crossword puzzles, and exploring the world through travel. Italy held a special place in her heart—she and Robert returned there many times over the years, visiting family and friends and immersing themselves in the culture. After her first visit, Jean taught herself Italian, adding to her fluency in French and deepening her connection to her Italian heritage.
Family was the heart of Jean’s world. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones, whether gathered around the dinner table with family and friends or relaxing at the family’s cherished vacation home on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Jean lived in Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, Florida and made her final home in Powder Springs, Georgia.
Jean is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Pascucci; her son, Robert Pascucci (Lynn); her daughter, Karen Holden (Michael); her granddaughters, Emily Holden and Anna Holden; her brothers, John Aquino and Jerome Aquino; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Philomena Zappi Aquino; her brother, James Aquino; and her sister, Joan Datillo.
