Jeff has been a role model and personal hero of mine since the 7th grade when I met Chad and he coached our ball team. He was hilarious, loyal, devoted and God fearing. He always had a way to make you feel better and put things into perspective. He was a man’s man and a fireman’s fireman. He influenced me to chase my dreams into the fire service, helped me buy a house and welcomed me into his home for beers and stories. He treated me like a son and a cherished friend. There was never any doubt where you stood in a Jeff’s eyes. He was a man of a thousand cliches and had the advice your heart needed to hear and feel. I always envied the relationship Chad and Matt had with Jeff. What an awesome man to call your Dad! Erna, I’m right down the road if you need me. I owe Jeff the honor of checking in on you when Matt, Chad and Ashley are busy or away. One thing is for sure, there are no fires where Jeff is now. Only peace and love. And he walks amongst us now. Skol my friend!

I haven't seen Jeff in many years but I do remember when he lived across the street from us he came over to see my brothers, he was the one who taught me how to play two handed spades and gave me the hobbit to read. Jeff was a great person and very nice...I am sorry for his friends lost and his family's loss. I pray God's makes this grieving less painful .With my love to Erna and the family, many prayers . Matt, Chad, Ashley and Erna-
I am so sorry to hear about Jeff’s passing. What a wonderful time we all had at Greyfield. I am so sorry I cannot be there today, as we are traveling back from a family vacation. I know exactly how this sudden loss feels. Please reach out if you need anything (even a listening ear). I have been praying for y’all and will continue to do so. God bless you!

Jeff was one of the greatest people I have had the pleasure to call a friend. I looked up to this man professionally and personally. He made everyone around him a better person. My heart goes out to Erna, Chad, Matthew, Ashley and the whole Fellabaum family. You will see him again in Heaven, no doubt.

Jeff was one of the kindest, most decent and generous people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was a true leader, and never asked anyone to do anything that he wouldn’t do. Jeff often started a project, and everyone would say, “Whoops! I should be doing that!” His humor and smile were infectious, and all of us would smile and laugh at his many funny stories. He was also a great cook, and liked to occasionally share his meals with us on the weekend. He was a wonderful human being, and he will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.

Jeff always brought out the best in everybody, when playing golf with him I always wanted to bring my “A” game especially while on his team because I didn’t want to let him down. He’s been around my whole life and I know I speak for my whole family when I say there is a void now that could never be filled by anyone else and we will love and miss him into eternity

Erna, Chad, Matthew & Ashley & family

We share deeply in the loss of a man who meant so much to so many. Uncle Jeff had the gift of making you feel special as you talked and spent time with him. We are so thankful for the many good memories he gave us. Our prayer for each of you is found in Paul's words to the Phillipians: "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus".

With love, Mark & Marlene

I wanted to share this picture of Captain Fellabaum as he was working to put out an apartment fire. When Jeff was on the scene you never had to worry about things getting done. He was a hands-on fire officer and a great leader. He made sure we all made it home safe. I truly enjoyed working with him as well as camping, hunting, and going to ballgames. Jeff was one of those who always seemed comfortable no matter his surroundings. He had a way of making even the most mundane task seem fun!

Erna and kids: I was so sorry to hear about Jeff's sudden death. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Having been through it 3 years ago when I lost Steve, I can understand your heartbreak and shock. It is so hard, but with God's help you will get through it and you will heal little by little. So sorry for your loss.
