Jerry Mack Buttrey, 85, passed away peacefully at home in Acworth, Georgia, on June 22, 2026—just as he wished. Born to Mack and Hazel Buttrey, Jerry lived a life defined by devotion, integrity, and an unwavering love for his family. Jerry’s life was a testament to his deep love for the Lord, and he strived daily to reflect Christ’s light to everyone he met.
A successful businessman, Jerry’s greatest pride was never his career, but the people he came home to. He cherished every moment spent with family and especially loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports. If there was a game, Jerry was there—cheering, supporting, and beaming with pride.
Jerry also possessed a natural talent for fixing anything electrical and could repair just about anything around the house. In his younger years, he enjoyed working on cars, trucks, and small engines, always eager to learn and always willing to help a neighbor or friend with his skills.
Jerry was blessed to share 60 beautiful years of marriage with his loving wife, Jo-Ann. Together, they built a life rich with love, laughter, and faith.
His legacy lives on through his devoted family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jo-Ann; his four children, Jerry Buttrey (Tami), Michael Buttrey (Jessie), Debbie Berger (Paul), and Kevin Buttrey (Wendy); as well as his 7 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Hazel Buttrey, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
