Jerry Arlen Davis, aged 76, passed away suddenly on October 16, 2026, in Snellville, Georgia, leaving behind a legacy of deep faith, honorable service, and boundless love for his family. Born on January 11, 1950, in Kenton, Ohio, to the late Robert and Jewel Davis, Jerry lived a vibrant, generous life marked by his quick wit, a teacher's heart, and a passion for sharing the gospel.
A proud veteran, Jerry served his country with distinction in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His bravery in battle, which included surviving being shot down, earned him several military decorations, including the Purple Heart. Following his courageous service, he received an honorable discharge.
Upon returning to civilian life, Jerry met his absolute best friend and the love of his life, Jolie Ann Smith, knowing instantly that she was the one Jerry proposed just six weeks after they met. Their whirlwind romance blossomed into 46 wonderful years of marriage, during which they remained completely inseparable, walking hand-in-hand through every season of life.
Jerry channeled his sharp mind and desire to help others into a successful 26-year career as a financial and estate planner. Outside of work, he was a dedicated member of the AmVets alongside Jolie, and he found great fulfillment ministering at the Potter’s House in Jefferson, Georgia. An evangelist at his core, Jerry held a close, personal relationship with God. He loved nothing more than striking up conversations with people, eagerly teaching them about his Lord and Savior.
A true enthusiast of life, Jerry loved the thrill of riding motorcycles, golfing, boating, and the art of buying and selling jewelry. He was also a fiercely loyal, lifelong fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Family and community were at the heart of everything he did; Jerry took immense joy in coaching his sons' football, basketball, and baseball teams over the years, and he equally enjoyed watching his daughter become a four-time State Cheerleading champion. Through it all, he invested heavily in the youth of his community and took immense pride in his children's achievements.
Above all else, family meant everything to Jerry. He cherished every gathering, every laugh, and every moment spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, who brought an extra sparkle to his eye. His warm, funny personality and boundless generosity will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Jolie Ann Davis; his children, Jerry Arlen Roman Davis, III and his wife Stacey, Bo Michael Howard Davis and his wife Lauren, and Evie Arlen Jolie Davis; his brother, Roy Gene Davis and his wife Thoa; his sisters, Shirley Dean Middleton, and Vicki Lynn Hudson and her husband Fred; and his four cherished grandchildren, Charlize Kate Davis, Jillian Isabelle Davis, Roman Wesley Davis, and Delany Michelle Davis. He also leaves behind his faithful four-legged companions, Duke and Annabelle.
He enters into eternal rest joined by those who went before him: his parents, Robert and Jewel Davis; his daughter, Christen Tyler Brook Davis; and his sisters, Robin Darlene Kaylor and Bobbie Arlene Davis.
