

Jerry was a loving, kind, and generous individual. He had influenced many people’s lives both on an individual basis and for his community as a whole, yet he never needed any recognition for his actions. He will be remembered by all for his sense of giving and his concern for others.
Early in his career, Jerry taught math, physical education, and was assistant Principal at North Cobb. He furthered his career in education and became the Cobb County Superintendent. While Cobb County was still growing, he actively recruited kids from colleges and universities to help the county grow to become one of the leading school districts in the nation. After retirement, Jerry traveled the world, visiting Australia, Alaska, Ireland, and Canada amongst many other countries.
Jerry enjoyed playing golf and had a group in Acworth that he played with for about 10 years. He was also a beloved member of the First Baptist Church of Acworth and had a large church family.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Laura Ingram; brother, Hollis Ingram; and parents, Herbert and Arabelle Ingram. He is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years, June Ingram; son, John Ingram and his wife, Karla, of Acworth, Georgia; daughter, Laurie Ingram of Acworth, Georgia; step-son, Timothy Stanaland, of Cartersville, Georgia; step-daughters, Melissa Lang and her husband, Ken, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Dawn Bartlett and her husband, Steve, of Lexington Park, Maryland; brothers, Charles Ingram and his wife,Deloris, of Ringold, Georgia and David Ingram and his wife, Linda, of Summerville, Georgia; sister, Tina Accettura of Marietta, Georgia; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all whom he loved dearly.
The family will receive friends 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Acworth at 2:00 PM with Brother David Lagrand officiating. Interment to follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Park.
