

Mrs. Joan Estelle Newton, age 74, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022. Joan was born on September 10, 1947 in Ellijay, Georgia, the daughter to the late Leonard C. Holden and Myrtle James.
Joan married the love of her life Bobby on March 12, 1964. Their marriage was blessed with many years of happiness. She passed on March 12, 2022 so Dad has been waiting to celebrate their anniversary, which would be their 58th. When Joan went to be with the Lord it was snowing just as it was the last anniversary that Bobby and Joan spent together. They loved each other and enjoyed sharing precious moments and adventures together. When you saw one you saw the other. .
Family was her passion, as she loved having family and friends around. Every year at Easter there were eggs hidden and each year there was 1 Golden egg to include a $20 bill. The children would hunt those eggs to the smile of joy from Memaw. Thanksgiving, Christmas as well as other family gatherings she made so memorable.
Memaw touched the hearts of her children and grandchildren. The strong love she had for them will forever remain in their lives. Her love will be carried down for all. She had a way of connecting with people and she touched many lives.
Along with her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Newton; granddaughter, Devin Butterworth; grandson, Allen Butterworth and Joan’s three siblings.
She is survived by her three loving children: daughter, Donna Newton Butterworth (Terry Butterworth) of Dallas, Georgia; son, Kenneth Newton, of Kennesaw, Georgia; daughter, Shannon Newton Stroud (Jimmy Stroud) of Woodstock, Georgia; 6 grandchildren; Lindsay Moutardier, Amber Stroud, Chelsie Perez and Lexi Lovell; 11 great-grandchildren, Gabby Moutardier, Sophia Butterworth, Mason Moutardier, Kinslee Taylor, Samantha Butterworth, Brayden Lovell, Gabriel Butterworth, Maverick Perez, McCoy Perez, Dawson Lovell, Isley Forrester, nieces and nephews and many friends.
The visitation for Joan Estelle Newton will be Friday, March 18th, 2022 from twelve o’clock in the afternoon until two o’clock in the afternoon at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home 2950 Cobb Pkwy NW Kennesaw, Georgia. The funeral service to honor the life of Joan Newton will be two o’ clock in the afternoon following the visitation. Interment will take place after the funeral service on Pine Ridge Memorial Park located at 2950 Cobb Pkwy NW Kennesaw, Georgia.
