Jo Ann Williams Cullom Chandler, lovingly referred to as JoAnna, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at the age of 87. She was born on August 16, 1930, to Norma Ellen Schlicht and Charles Howard Williams in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a 1947 graduate of Ward-Belmont Preparatory School and later attended Southern Methodist University where she received a Bachelor's of Science in Education. She spent a significant amount of time running the Shalom Soup Kitchen in Dalton, Georgia. In her later years, she dedicated her efforts to serving the Hand of Help Orphanage in Romania.
JoAnna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Colquitt Lee Chandler III (Collie); her son in-law, James Lee Collins; and her great-granddaughter, Georgia Marie Nolin. She is survived by her daughters, Norma Cullom Collins, Millie Cullom Downs (Jim) and Martha Carol Cullom; her step-daughter, Julia Chandler Lawing (Bruce); her step-son, Colquitt Lee Chandler IV; her grandchildren, Anne-Marie Collins Nolin (Grant), Catherine Henry Ross (Chad), and Robert Andrew Henry (Anne); her step-grandchildren, Bradford James Downs (Jillian), Chandler Rebekah Lawing, Lydia Grace Lawing, Emma Louise Lawing, and Claire Elizabeth Lawing; her great-grandchildren, Timothy Guy Nolin, Taylor Elizabeth Nolin, Caroline Marie Ross, and Emma Catherine Ross; and her step-great-grandchildren, Lola Jane Downs and Archer Declan Downs.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at 1pm, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home and Crematory, 2950 North Cobb Parkway NW, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152. Reception to follow from 2-3pm.
