Joe “Pete” Maddox, Sr., 75, of Acworth passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 8, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw beginning at 3pm, burial will follow at Pineridge Memorial Park.
A native of Magee, MS Mr. Maddox had lived in Cobb county for 40 plus years. He had worked for Vulcan Materials as a Superintendant and was of the Baptist faith.
Those who survive Pete are his wife of 55 years Kathryn “Bootsie” Maddox of Acworth; sons, John Maddox and his wife Mary of Hayesville, NC, Steve Maddox and his wife Sharon of Acworth, Ga., Joe Maddox, Jr. and his wife Kim of Cartersville, Ga.; daughter Jo Nell Dunn of Mobile, AL; brother, James Maddox of Pineville, MS; sister, Janette Day of Marietta, Ga.; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Thursday, 7pm-9pm at the funeral home.
