David was born January 3, 1947 in Marietta, GA.
He is preceded in death by his parents James Madison Bagwell and Eva Grace Mitchell and his two brothers Hubert Fred rick ( Fred ) Bagwell and William Garland (Chubby) Bagwell
He is survived by his wife Sonya Marie Bagwell and her children Amanda Southern and Kyle Southern and David’s daughter Dawn Bagwell Hart. He is also survived by his two sisters Claudia Gibbs and Margret Trucks. Granddaughter Amanda Bagwell Jones and her children; Isabelle and Indy. Sara Prather and her daughter Riley. Granddaughter Abbey Sandusky.
He was a true believer in Jesus Christ and avid fisherman. He grew up in the automotive repair business and was an exemplary mechanic and car builder. Known throughout the area in the car hobby from dirt track and drag racing to show cars.
His smile, laughter and knowledge will be truly missed.
Visitation will be held at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152, on September 8, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
