Dr. John E. Head, Sr., age 81 of Winder, GA, passed away, Friday, January 3, 2014. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 6, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, Kennesaw, GA, with Rev. Phil Adair, Rev. Phil Robertson and Rev. Gene Head officiating. Burial will follow at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA, Monday, January 6, 2014, at 2:30 p.m.
Dr. Head, Sr. was a native of Avondale Estates, and served as Senior Pastor of Gates of Praise Tabernacle for more than 20 years. He traveled the world as a missionary evangelist. Dr. Head was dean of Mableton Bible Institute. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Wife, Joyce M. Head, Son, Rev. Gene and wife ( Theresa ) Head, Daughter, Carol and husband (Tony) Hall, Brother, Clayton Head, Sister, Latrelle Wallace, Grandchildren, Ryan Head, Bryan Hall, Phillip Head, Jeremy Hall, Michael Yeom and David Yeom, several nieces, nephews and cousins
