John A Steel, age 76, of Greensboro, Georgia passed away on Friday August 3, 2018. John was born September 11, 1941. John was a devoted husband to his wife Carolyn for thirty two years, and a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed travel, golf, and farming, and was a avid hunter. John and Carolyn lived in Marietta for about twenty years before moving to Greensboro. He was employed by Fabrico and served as Vice President of Manufacturing GPC, and served his country in the United States Army.
John is survived by his wife; Carolyn Steel; daughter; Tracy Woodall, son; Mark Steel, and wife Beth; sisters, Barbara Graves, and husband Freddie, and Mary Jane Klenske; brother, Don Steel and wife Jane, grandchildren; Mitch, Taylor, Andrew, Cade, great grandchildren; Mia, Skylar, Amberlynn, Tate, nephews Scott and Lee; nieces, Diana, Shay, and Shanna.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John Daniel and Anna Lucille Steel; son - John Trenton Steel
A funeral service for John will be held Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. A celebration of life gathering will follow services from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Interment will follow in the Kennesaw Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
