Judy Smith Owens, age 79, went home to be with the Jesus on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Judy was born in Austell, Georgia to Joseph and Maybelle Smith whom preceded her in death. A woman of faith, Judy was a member of Burnt Hickory Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who provided a loving home for her family and was a loving wife as well as a devoted mother. Judy was a Cub Scout Den mother for several years and volunteered at Big Shanty Elementary during the time that her children attended.
Judy is survived by her husband of 60 years Tommy Owens; sons - Greg (Alicia), and Doug (Tracey); grandson Paul; granddaughter Laiken (Dustin); sister - Janet Smith
A visitation for Judy will be held Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152. A funeral service will occur Monday, March 18, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Wallace Wheeles officiating. Judy will be laid to rest at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, 1861 Dallas Hwy, Marietta, GA 30064. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Judy's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association, alz.org.
