Karl served in the United States Navy for 26 years and was an Aviation Electronics Technician Senior Chief. Besides his extensive career with the Navy, Karl led his family weekly to First Baptist Church of Atlanta, enjoyed reading, photography, playing the organ, and technology. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family and did so as often as he could.
Karl is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Priscilla, parents; John and Faith Koritko, and brother, Kenneth "Kenny”.
Karl is survived by his sons Stephen (DeeAnna), Dustin (Lauren), Tamara (late Todd), Aimee (Hans), Rebecca Obermeyer (Matt), and Christiana. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Cody, Brendan, Stephanie, Justin, Will, Madison, Cade, Victoria, Jack, Sara, Kory, Ashlyn, Aleksandr, Jakob, Sean, Andrew, Luke, Leia, Eva, John, and Elora, as well as his great-grandchildren: Martin, Adeline, Zion, Kora, Killian, Kassidy, Jasper, and Silas. Additionally, sisters Lila Taylor, Gloria (late “Bob”) Smurlo, and Angela (George) Meyers.
Visitation will be held at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152, US, on August 24, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location on August 24, 2026, at 11:00 am.
A Committal Service will take place at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114, on August 24, 2026, at 1:30 pm.
