Katherine “Kathy” Anne (Richard) Ash, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on April 18, 1953, in Queens, New York, to Earnest and Anne Richard, Kathy was known for her great sense of humor, kind heart, and gentle spirit. Kathy's Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Clubhouse at the front of Laura's community on Saturday, November, 15th 2025 at 4:00 pm at 326 Creel CT NW Kennesaw GA 30144. Please wear something that sparkles or shines in honor of mama. We plan to celebrate with laughter and music.
Kathy’s early years were filled with music and creativity. Her love of singing led to a special memory—being chosen to perform the National Anthem at a local sporting event as a young girl. Kathy’s life was filled with faith and love. Of her accomplishments however, Kathy always considered her greatest joy to be her daughters, Vicki and Laura, whom she cherished deeply.
She had a lifelong passion for music and singing, and she found great happiness in cooking for her family. Known for her sparkle—both in personality and style—Kathy had an eye for glittery clothing, jewelry, and decorations. Her enthusiasm for the holidays was legendary; she was famous for going overboard with tinsel on the Christmas tree and for making every birthday and celebration truly special. Her handmade decorations, homemade cakes, and thoughtful touches turned simple gatherings into cherished memories. In keeping with Kathy’s tradition of making special memories the family invites you to share any memories and photos with them.
Kathy’s love and warmth will forever live on through her family. She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Jarboe married to Richard Pablos and Laura Morris Kamishlian and her husband Christopher Kamishlian; her grandchildren, Emma, Tristan and Alex; her brothers, William and Ronald Richard; her sister, Elizabeth (Richard)Morris; and many extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen Ash, and her parents, Earnest Joseph Richard and Anne Marie Colacino Richard.
Kathy’s life was a testament to love, laughter, and the beauty of caring for others. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.
